FIR Filter Design for Frequency Invariant Beamformers - IEEE Signal Processing Letters

چکیده
FREQUENCY invariant beamformer (FJB) is a beamA former in which the response is (approximately) constant over an arbitrarily wide design bandwidth. This type of beamformer is particularly useful in speech acquisition with microphone arrays, and several methods of design have been proposed [1]-[3]. In [4], a new analog technique based on approximating an ideal continuous aperture was presented. Based on that theory, two methods of designing FIR filters for use in an FIB are proposed in this letter. The first method involves multirate sampling, and the second is based on a single sampling rate.

Filter design for MIMO sampling and reconstruction
We address the problem of FIR equalizer filter design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant channels with uniform sampling at the channel outputs. This scheme encompasses Papoulis’ generalized sampling and several nonuniform sampling schemes as special cases. The input signals are modeled as either continuous-time or discrete-time multi-band input signals, with differe...
متن کاملAnalytical design of FIR filters
A new recursive algorithm for the impulse response coefficients of a FIR lowpass filter is developed. The algorithm is obtained from the differential equation for the amplitude response of a lowpass filter. While the original filter exhibits maximally flat frequency response, the abridging of the impulse response provides a frequency response comparable to those obtained by other design methods.
متن کاملLinear matrix inequality formulation of spectral mask constraints with applications to FIR filter design
The design of a finite impulse response (FIR) filter often involves a spectral ‘mask’ which the magnitude spectrum must satisfy. The mask specifies upper and lower bounds at each frequency, and hence yields an infinite number of constraints. In current practice, spectral masks are often approximated by discretization, but in this paper we will derive a result which allows us to precisely enforc...

designing FIR fan filters suitable for the multibeam forming network of the wideband beamspace adaptive array. Characteristics were approximated through the combination of spectral transformation and the window method so that those beam patterns that included the sidelobe characteristics of the resulting fan filters were virtually frequency independent. Using the fan filters designed by the pro...
متن کاملA singular value decomposition derivation in the discrete frequency domain of optimal noncentro-symmetric 2-D FIR filters
A new derivation is presented for the least squares solution of the design problem of 2-D FIR filters by minimizing the Frobenius norm of the difference between the matrices of the ideal and actual frequency responses sampled at the points of a frequency grid. The mathematical approach is based on the singular value decomposition of two complex transformation matrices. Interestingly, the design...
